Spanish GP organisers want name change

The organisers of the Spanish Grand Prix want the Formula One race to be officially renamed. The Circuit de Catalunya, as the venue for the annual Grand Prix has been known since its construction in 1991, was officially rebranded as the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya last year. With the above-mentioned change in mind, circuit boss Salvador Servia told Catalunya Radio that he wants to rename the race the Barcelona Grand Prix. "Evidently, the 'Barcelona' brand outsells the 'Spain' brand," he claimed.
