Alonso: New boss Mattiacci needs time

– Fernando Alonso is hoping that Marco Mattiacci will be given sufficient time to adapt to his new role as Team Principal of the Ferrari Formula 1 outfit, following the Italian's promotion earlier this week. Former team boss Stefano Domenicali tendered his resignation on Monday after a challenging start to the 2014 campaign, with Mattiacci, head of the famous marque's North American arm, stepping up to replace him. Speaking in Thursday's pre-Grand Prix press conference at the Shanghai circuit, Alonso stated that it is "too early" to make a judgment over the promotion of Mattiacci, whom the Spaniard has not yet spoken to.
