Rosberg takes pole as Mercedes continue to dominate in Bahrain

Nico Rosberg has secured pole position for tomorrow’s 57-lap Bahrain Grand Prix, as Mercedes continues to reign at the top of the pecking order in Bahrain. The German will start the race alongside his British team-mate of Lewis Hamilton, with the second row consisting of Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez despite Daniel Ricciardo initially ending the session 4th in the Red Bull. The all-important qualifying hour, the first run in dry conditions this year, got underway around the illuminated Bahrain International Circuit in clear conditions, with Esteban Gutierrez becoming the first driver to take to the 5.412km circuit in the Sauber.
