Ecclestone hints Haas will get F1 entry
Bernie Ecclestone has indicated that Gene Haas's entry will be given the green light to join the Formula 1 grid in either 2015 or 2016.
The FIA began a search for new teams at the end of last year, with a decision originally scheduled for the end of February 2014, although that decision was ultimately delayed for unknown reasons.
It is understood that Haas - co-owner of the NASCAR outfit Stewart-Haas Racing - was the most credible of the three entries submitted to the FIA.
"I think Haas will be accepted," Ecclestone told The Independent. "They have got the money but it's a question of whether they are going to spend it."
