Nostalgia: 1995 Australian Grand Prix
With Formula 1 preparing to enter a new technical era this season, many are expecting the season-opening Australian Grand Prix around Melbourne’s Albert Park Street Circuit to feature an abnormally high attrition rate. Some have even speculated that Mercedes could easily win the race by several laps, such is the gap between the German marque and the rest of the field.
Whether or not such an advantage will be apparent for Mercedes during the opening race of the season will remain to be seen, however the predictions of a high attrition rate is still expected as the new engine regulations continue to cause many headaches for the teams’ up and down the paddock.
