Rosberg 'very pleased' with second pre-season test

Nico Rosberg says he is 'very pleased' with the progress made by the Mercedes team at the second winter test of the 2014 season. The German driver was at the wheel of the new W05 on Saturday and completed 89 laps of the Bahrain International Circuit. However, his running was cut short in the closing stages of day four thanks to a mechanical issue. He admits that there is still a long way to go, but is encouraged by the reliability of the new car ahead of the final four-day event next week. 'We can be very pleased with the first test in Bahrain this week,' he said. 'We completed a lot of mileage and learnt more about the car with every lap we achieved.
