Lotus confirms new Renault partnership

Lotus has officially confirmed a new partnership with Renault to be supplied with its power unit “for 2014 and beyond”.Renault has supplied Lotus with engines since withdrawing from the sport as a constructor at the end of the 2009 season, but the previous deal ran out at the end of 2013. Lotus has since been trying to negotiate an enhanced partnership after Red Bull and Renault entered in to a “premium technical partnership” ahead of the 2012 season, but no deal had been agreed.However, a new partnership is now in place which starts with Renault supplying the team with its 2014 power unit, and Lotus CEO Matthew Carter said he hoped it would lead to continued success.“Lotus F1...
