JV: Double points terrible idea
Jacques Villeneuve is the latest to slate Formula One's new double points rule, saying it is is "overly artificial."
This season, for the first time, the sport will award double points at the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
The rule has been introduced in a bid to keep the Championship alive until the final lap of the final race.
However, most have slated it.
"I think it's a terrible idea," villeneuve told Sky Sports News.
"It's showing that Formula 1 right now there's no way to invent anymore to try and create some interest. It's overly artificial, just the way the rules are in general with the DRS and everything.
