Domenicali: Ferrari F14 T matched expectations
– Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali has said the performance of the Scuderia’s new 2014 F1 car, the F14 T, matched expectations last week during the opening pre-season test at Jerez in Spain. Kimi Raikkonen set the pace on the opening day and in the end finished up fifth in the combined times, with team-mate Fernando Alonso seventh. In total the Maranello-based outfit did 251 laps – bettered only by Mercedes. Overall Domenicali added that the four-days provided a ‘solid starting’ point ahead of the Bahrain tests and the opening race next month in Melbourne, Australia. “These were four very demanding and important days to give us something to work in Maranello.
