Jerez: Alonso causes red flag, Red Bull up in smoke

Fernando Alonso made a return to the Ferrari cock pit this morning completing 25 laps before his Ferrari came to a halt on the track causing a red flag.That is the second time the Ferrari has grinded to a halt over the past 3 days.Lewis Hamilton set the early pace until he was overhauled by former McLaren team mate Jenson Button. Jenson will hand over the car to new team mate Kevin Magnussen this afternoon as he makes his debut in Formula 1 for McLaren.The red bull of Daniel Ricciardo broke down in smoke on its first lap in what has been a troublesome 3 days for Red Bull and the Renault engines.Jenson Button currently tops the time sheets, followed by Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.
