Bottas pleased with testing progress
Valtteri Bottas says he is pleased with the progress made on the opening two days of winter testing, after he completed 35 laps at the wheel of the new Williams FW36 on Wednesday. The Finn set the third fastest time, a 1m25.344, but more importantly, he managed to complete a decent amount of running for Williams in the new car. However, his session was cut slightly short after the team discovered a rear suspension problem.
'Testing this week is about checking all the new systems more than outright performance so problems are expected, but we've been solving each one as it has come up,' he said. 'We completed some running in the wet this morning to gather some data on the intermediate tyres...
