Jerez F1 test times – day one: 28 January
Kimi Raikkonen was fastest on the opening day of pre-season testing at Jerez - with limited running throughout the paddock.Raikkonen was the only man to manage more than 20 laps on a day featuring a number of stoppages, the most serious coming when Lewis Hamilton crashed the new Mercedes after a front wing issue.Red Bull and Caterham failed to post timed laps having only joined proceedings late in the day, while McLaren and Marussia weren't ready to start their testing programmes.With the early running being more about reliability and system checks with the revised regulations rather than outright peformance, lap times were notably down on those set in the corresponding test last year and...
