Pirelli to supply F1 exclusively until at least 2016

Pirelli has announced that it has agreed a new contract to supply Formula 1 exclusively for the next three years, starting in 2014. The Italian manufacturer had been left in a state of limbo last year after the FIA failed to renew its agreement with the supplier for 2014 and beyond until late in the season. That agreement was just for this year, but the FIA has now agreed to retain Pirelli until at least the end of 2016. As part of the agreement, following a spate of incidents last year, one of the 12 days of pre-season testing will be dedicated exclusively to wet tyre testing.
