Pirelli renews F1 contract

Pirelli has renewed its Formula 1 contract, signing a deal that will see it continue as the sport's sole supplier until at least 2016. The Italian manufacturer returned to F1 after last competing in the sport in 1991, taking over from Bridgestone following their decision to withdraw at the end of 2010. The duration of the agreement is for three years and starts from 2014. There are a number of new regulations regarding tyres this season, which include one of the 12 pre-season test days being dedicated to wet weather tyre testing.
