Tost: Vergne has a lot of potential
– Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost is backing Jean-Eric Vergne to succeed next season, assuming the Faenza-based squad provide him with a good car. Vergne will compete with STR for a third year in 2014 and after only notching up three top-ten finishes in 2013, he will be hoping the STR9 is far more competitive than this year’s STR8. “Jean-Eric Vergne has a lot of potential and I'm more than happy he's with us next year. If we provide him with a good car he will show a very, very good performance,” Tost told Sky Sports F1.
