Mallya: Perez signing not related to money

Force India team principal Vijay Mallya has insisted that Sergio Perez earned his drive through his talent and not because of the potential financial backing that he could bring to the team. The team confirmed the news that Perez would be joining Nico Hulkenberg at the team on Thursday. The Mexican's arrival prompted suggestions that he was partly chosen due to his strong financial backing from the Telmex communications group. However, Mallya has dismissed the claims.
