Bahrain set to host night race in 2014

Bahrain has confirmed that next year's grand prix, currently scheduled to take place on April 6th, will be a night race. The plans are to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix, which was won by Michael Schumacher. The floodlighting will involve 495 lighting poles, ranging from between 10-45 metres in height, and will be suitable for high-definition television broadcasting. The final round of the World Endurance Championship will take place at the Bahrain International Circuit this weekend and will be used to test the first phase of the project.
