Rosberg leads Mercedes one-two in a wet first practice

Nico Rosberg emerged as the quickest driver in a rain first practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix on Friday. The Mercedes driver set a time of 1 minute 24.781 seconds around the Interlagos circuit, nearly half a second quicker than his teammate Lewis Hamilton. Most of the session was run on either full wet or intermediate tyres, with the slicks including the 2014 prototypes that Pirelli had brought to Brazil for evaluation purposes, making only a brief appearance. Showers of varying degrees persisted throughout the session keeping the track tricky, as demonstrated by Hamilton after he spun his Mercedes when he got on the power a bit too early at the exit of Turn 3, prompting the...
