10-place grid penalty for Gutierrez
November 16th, 2013 (F1Plus / Chris Cameron-Dow) - Esteban Gutierrez has been handed a 10-place grid penalty for dangerously impeding Pastor Maldonado during the first part of qualfiying for the United States Grand Prix. During Q1, Gutierrez was weaving on his approach to the final corner of a warm-up lap, while Maldonado was on a flying lap not too far behind him. Gutierrez was going so slowly that Maldonado caught him at significant speed and had to cut the final corner to avoid what would have been a serious accident.
