Four drivers penalised at United States GP
As many as four drivers will carry penalties for the United States Grand Prix on Sunday. Jenson Button was the first driver to get hit with a punishment after he was found guilty of overtaking another car during the red flag period in the first practice session on Friday. The dejected McLaren driver had qualified a disappointing 13th but will be demoted three places for the infringement. Then ahead of qualifying on Saturday, Caterham opted to change the gearbox in Charles Pic’s car. As the original unit had not completed five races, as required by regulations, the Frenchman will drop five places on the starting grid. Pic had qualified 21st.
