Alonso fastest in disorderly first practice in Austin
Sporting a therapeutic tape for treating athletic injuries, Fernando Alonso emerged as the quickest driver in the disrupted first practice session for the United States Grand Prix on Friday. Cleared for the weekend on Thursday after sustaining a back injury during the race at Abu Dhabi, the Ferrari driver clocked a time of 1 minute 38.343 seconds around the 5.5-kilometre Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
