Whitmarsh thanks Perez for his work at McLaren
McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh has responded to Sergio Perez's statement confirming that he will not be racing for the team next season by thanking the Mexican driver for his efforts during his one-season spell at Woking.
Perez has been under pressure all season and failed to produce the results McLaren desired despite being blighted by the troublesome MP4-28 car. However, he graciously confirmed the recent reports that suggested he would not be racing for the team next season earlier today, and Whitmarsh has reacted in kind by thanking Perez.
