Raikkonen to miss rest of 2013 season

Lotus F1 Team Kimi Raikkonen will not compete in the final two races of 2013 due to undergoing back surgery next week. Raikkonen had been a doubt to compete in Austin and Brazil due to financial issues with Lotus, but the Finn has elected to undergo back surgery that will force him to miss the final two events. Raikkonen's back problem began following a heavy testing crash in 2001 and the issue flared up during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend in September. 'In an ideal world it would have been nice to finish the season with Lotus in the final two grands prix,' Raikkonen's manager Steve Robertson told Autosport.
