F1 2013 – Maldonado to have funds frozen by government?
Reports are suggesting that Venezuelan officials are freezing all sponsorship to automobile and motorcycle racers who compete overseas in an investigation into a currency scandal.Although heavily oil rich, Venezuela has huge problems with their economy, Dollars are hugely scarce inside the country and on the black market they can fetch more than 7 times their official rate.Maldonado is backed by PDVSA who fund his seat at the Williams team, removing this funding would surely see Pastor Maldonado out of Formula one altogether.
