Bianchi, Van der Garde cleared over first lap clash
Race stewards in Japan have decided that neither Caterhams Giedo van der Garde nor Marussias Jules Bianchi was predominately to blame for the first corner crash that ruled both men out of Sundays race at Suzuka on the opening lap.Having decided to investigate the incident after the race had finished, the stewards spoke to both drivers before coming to their conclusion. The incident was the result of actions by the drivers of car 21 (Giedo van der Garde) and car 23 (Max Chilton) which contributed to car 21 impacting the rear right of car 22 (Jules Bianchi), the stewards report said.
