Bianchi forced to sit out of FP2

Jules Bianchi will not complete second practice ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix due to chassis damage to his car during first practice. The Frenchman had only completed five laps when he went off at the challenging Degner Curve. He went to correct a slide on the exit but couldn't fix the opposite lock due to his elbow being stuck between the seat and the chassis. His Marussia MR02 was embedded in the tyre wall a considerable impact with the barriers. Unfortunately he will now have to sit out of the second session as the damage sustained by the chassis is reparable, but not in the timescale needed to make the second session.
