Pirelli: Flat spot caused Pérez failure

"true">Sole Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli has attributed Sergio Pérez's right-front tyre failure suffered during the Korean Grand Prix to a flat spot caused by a severe lock-up. The McLaren driver was travelling between Turns 2 and 3 when his structure blew up, causing major damage to the front of his car in the process. But instead of an outright failure, Pirelli Motorsport Director Paul Hembery said the issue was brought on.
