Hamilton 'really happy' with first day

Lewis Hamilton was left feeling encouraged by his pace throughout the opening day of practice in Korea, with the Mercedes driver topping both 90 minute sessions. Having shown strong one-lap performance on Pirelli's Medium compound in the morning session, Hamilton found enough of an improvement on the Super Soft rubber to fend off Sebastian Vettel, who had topped the previous five Fridays. "It's been a good day," Hamilton told reporters after his time behind the wheel. "I'm really happy with the way everything has gone.
