Bahrain to host pre-season tests and twilight race in 2014 3 October, 2013 Bahrain will be busy with F1 in 2014 Next year's Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix will enter the twilight zone with the race set to start in the evening sunshine and end under floodlights after nightfall and will also host two pre-season tests, according to McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh. Whitmarsh, whose British-based team is half owned by Bahrain's Mumtalakat sovereign wealth fund, said he had seen plans for the April 6 race which has until now been held in the afternoon heat.
