German prosecutors delay Ecclestone trial

German prosecutors have chosen to delay the decision as to whether or not Bernie Ecclestone will face a trial for suspected bribery charges. The 82-year-old was set to stand trial in just a few weeks, but his lawyers have asked for additional time to present evidence and the Munich prosecutors have agreed. A decision won't be made until next year now, giving Ecclestone time to focus on a civil case brought against him by Constantin Medien who alledge they lost out on millions when Formula 1 was sold to its current owner CVC Capital Partners. The German media group are claiming damages of £106 million ($171m) as they believe F1 was undervalued when it was sold in 2005.
