McLaren chasing Alonso for 2014

Fernando Alonso could yet return to McLaren next season after Martin Whitmarsh expressed an interest in re-signing the Spaniard. In what would be an even more sensational move than Ferrari nabbing Kimi Raikkonen from Lotus, McLaren have set their sights on Alonso. The double World Champion raced for McLaren back in 2008 in what proved to be an acrimonious season for both the driver and the team. Despite having a multi-year deal with the Woking outfit, after a year of fighting with Lewis Hamilton and then team boss Ron Dennis, Alonso opted to leave.
