Whiting inspects Mexican Grand Prix venue

Formula 1 race director Charlie Whiting has visited the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez ahead of the potential return of the Mexican Grand Prix in 2014. Mexico was listed as a provisional race on the 2014 calendar, with a draft schedule distributed to Formula 1 team bosses at last weekend's Italian Grand Prix. Federico Alamán, the director of the event's group OCESA, Tavo Hellmund, who was initially involved in the Circuit of the Americas, and FIA Vice President Jorge Abed also attended. Johannes Hogrebe, a colleague of circuit designer Herman Tilke, also assessed the circuit to review any potential changes. The circuit hosted Formula 1 races between 1963-1970 and 1986-1992.
