Final practice - Alonso closes in on Vettel at Monza

Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull continued to dominate practice at Monza on Saturday morning, as the German headed FP3 with a lap of 1m 24.360s despite improved relative performances from his pursuers.This time it was home hero Ferrari's Fernando Alonso who got closest with 1m 24.643s, which just usurped Mark Webber in the other Red Bull. The Australian lapped in 1m 24.677s. A late improvement saw the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton jump up to fourth for with 1m 24.712s, but it was another tough session for his team mate Nico Rosberg whose W04 was laid low with overheating after posting 1m 27.822s early on.
