Vettel quickest from Alonso in final practice at Spa

Sebastian Vettel set the fastest time in the third and final practice session for the Belgian Grand Prix on Saturday emerging as the favourite to claim pole position later in the day. Held amid concerns that the weekend may witness tyre failures putting the lives of the drivers at risk after Vettel and Fernando Alonso, who was second in the session, suffered punctures during Friday’s outing, the session however went smoothly. Pirelli has assured that the punctures were not due to structural issues but because of debris, believed to be a metal plate shed by a car.
