Ron Howard: F1 drivers are half heroes, half mad-men
Director of ‘Rush' Ron Howard has spoken about how creating a movie about Formula One has changed his outlook on the sport, giving him a new-found respect for the drivers that put their lives on the line every other Sunday.
‘Rush' profiles the titanic tussle in the 1976 Formula One season between James Hunt and Niki Lauda that is often regarded as the greatest driver rivalry in the history of the sport. Following the success of ‘Senna', films about F1 are becoming increasingly lucrative and popular, and Howard has revealed how directing the film has turned him into a hardcore fan.
