Ferrari make contact with Raikkonen – reports
Silly season kicked off with a bang in Hungary as F1 welcomes the annual interlude of rumours, ambiguous answers and contract negotiations. After rumours began to emerge of a rift between Ferrari and Fernando Alonso in Hungary, German publication Bild has today reported that the Italian team has been in contact with Lotus' Kimi Raikkonen.
According to Bild, Ferrari's offer is more lucrative than that of Red Bull, who are thought to be vying for the Finn's services next season as a replacement for the retiring Mark Webber. Quite whether Ferrari's interest in Raikkonen is merely a safety net if Alonso leaves, or as a replacement for the out-of-contract Felipe Massa, it is hard to tell....
