Ellinas makes history for Marussia
Tio Ellinas made history on the first day of the Young Driver Test at Silverstone as he became the first Cypriot to take part in an official Formula One test session. The 21-year-old, was rewarded with the opportunity to test the Banbury based teams 2012 challenger, the MR02 after finishing as the highest placed Marussia Manor driver at the end of the 2012 GP3 season.
Ellinas explained how much the opportunity had meant to him: “Without doubt, today has been the best moment of my life. It was a fantastic experience that I know I will remember forever. I feel very proud to be representing my country and to have so much support from the people back home in Cyprus.
