Magnussen 'feels ready' for F1

McLaren youngster Kevin Magnussen insists his main priority remains the Formula Renault 3.5 Championship despite his impressive run at the Young Driver Test. Formula One runs in his blood as his father Jan is a former McLaren and Stewart driver and it's not surprising that his ultimate ambition is to win a seat on the F1 grid. The 20-year-old did his future prospects no harm on Wednesday as he topped the timesheets on day one of the Young Driver Test at Silverstone. Magnussen, though, knows it won't be easy to make the step up and that's why he's determined to finish the FR3.5 Championship, which he currently leads, on a high.
