McLaren's Magnussen heads test

McLaren youngster Kevin Magnussen swept to the top of the timesheets late on at the opening day of the revamped Young Driver Test at Silverstone.The 20-year-old Dane, son of the team's former driver Jan, had propped up the field at lunchtime but as the afternoon progressed steadily worked his way up the order before toppling afternoon-long pacesetters Paul Di Resta and Antonio Felix da Costa in the final 30 minutes with a time of 1:33.602.larly But while there were several other notable performances from the rookies in the field - partic Britain's James Calado, who finished fourth on his full F1 test debut - the first day of the combined young driver/Pirelli tyre test was undoubtedly...
