Pirelli change tyre allocation for Hungary

Pirelli have announced that it will bring the soft and medium tyre to the Hungarian Grand Prix, contrary to its much debated earlier decision to go for the medium and hard. Lotus in particular were very opposed against the decision to go for the harder tyres, knowing that their Lotus E21 is probably the best current at managing tyre life. However, following the Silverstone issues where 5 Pirelli tyres failed, the company decided to run kevlar belt rear tyres at the German GP, and as of the Hungarian Grand Prix, all tyres will have a kevlar belt. Essentially, the new tyres will have a structure, construction and belt identical to that of 2012, which ensured maximum performance and safety....
