Van der Garde to drive at Silverstone test
Caterham driver Giedo van der Garde will take part in next week's modified Young Driver Test at the Silverstone circuit, the Dutchman has confirmed to GPUpdate.net. In the wake of the tyre blow-outs suffered during the British Grand Prix, the FIA opted to modify the structure of the test, allowing the use of race drivers to provide the Pirelli with greater feedback on its new tyres, which will be race for the first time in Hungary. Ferrari also plans to run race drivers at the three-day gathering, taking place from July 17-19, while Red Bull and Marussia have so far named dedicated young drivers.
