Friday analysis - clean bill of health for revised tyres

For once Friday’s weather did exactly what teams were praying for, and both FP1 and FP2 in Germany were run in dry conditions. This enabled everyone to run Pirelli’s modified medium-compound tyres in the morning, and the mediums and softs in the afternoon. After the events of Silverstone last weekend, everyone was obliged to comply with the FIA’s diktat that tyres were no longer to be reversed (F1 tyres are supposed to be unidirectional), and to observe minimum tyre pressures of 16 psi and camber angles of 4 degrees at the front and 2.5 at the rear.
