Test-gate decision to arrive by Friday

Formula 1 governing body the FIA will announce a verdict over the test-gate scandal involving Mercedes and sole tyre supplier Pirelli by Friday, following the first ever meeting of the independent International Tribunal (IT) in Paris. After all three parties presented their respective arguments on Thursday, IT President Edwin Glasgow QC announced that the outcome will be revealed by tomorrow, with the panel now due to evaluate the evidence before reaching a conclusion. The FIA was the first to speak out, with legal representative Mark Howard QC stating that permission had not been given for the 1,000km test to go ahead.
