Christian Horner honoured with OBE

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has been honoured with the Order of the British Empire (OBE) on Queen Elizabeth II's birthday list. Horner, who oversaw his team win three consecutive constructors' as well as drivers' championships, is among several sportspersons honoured by the queen. "That is very unexpected, really unbelievable. To stand alongside men and women that have achieved something great for their country is very, very special," the 39-year-old said. Scottish golfer Paul Lawrie, who won the 1999 British Open and was a member of the victorious European Ryder Cup team last year, was also awarded the OBE. Sapa-DPA
