Pirelli will not introduce new tyres in Britain

Formula 1 teams will not race with Pirelli's modified tyre compounds at the upcoming British Grand Prix, with the Italian manufacturer opting against their introduction after inconclusive testing on a wet opening practice day in Canada. With a series of tyre delaminations striking various drivers early in the season, Pirelli announced after the Spanish Grand Prix that it would be making safety-based tweaks to its compounds. The idea was for the new rubber, fitted with a Kevlar belt as opposed to steel, to be tested in Montreal and raced for the first time at Silverstone.
