Race to forget for Sauber's driver pairing

It was a disastrous race for the Sauber duo after both cars retired from the Canadian Grand Prix – their first double retirement since Italy 2011. Esteban Gutierrez crashed with just a handful of laps remaining and Nico Hulkenberg was also caught up in a clash with the Caterham of Giedo van der Garde. The German suffered a puncture that ended his race. Speaking in a team statement after retiring from the race, Hulkenberg said: 'It’s disappointing to finish a race like this. Lapping can be troublesome, but these guys are racing too and have things happenings in the race, the same as us. I lapped Giedo van der Garde and braked.'
