Problems for Thailand GP in Bangkok

Organisers behind the proposed Thailand Grand Prix in Bangkok are facing issues over the location of the event, with a law being passed to prevent racing in the area. Original plans for the night race would have seen a street circuit almost six kilometres in length run past a variety of tourist attractions including the Royal Palace and Victory Monument in Bangkok, but the search is now on to find another suitable spot. Phuket, Khon Kaen and Nakhon Ratchasima have all been mooted as potential venues by Tourism and Sports Minister Somsak Phurisisak, although he is quoted as saying by the Bangkok Post that "we may have to cancel the proposed Grand Prix."
