Pirelli's answers their critics

In a live streamed press conference call organised by Pirelli; Paul Hembery, Maurizio Boiocchi and Mario Isola were present to answer questions from the world’s media in the wake of the tyre company’s controversial Barcelona test with Mercedes.  Pirelli’s Motorsport Director, Paul Hembery moved to clarify a number of points overlooked in the initial hysteria surrounding the test. Firstly that the compounds that were being tested were compounds constructed for the 2014 championship and that the Mercedes drivers had no information as to what compounds they were running – being as Pirelli described as “conceptual research work”.
