Pirelli: Tests didn't favour any team

Pirelli have defended themselves in the ongoing tyre test debut, insisting they acted "professionally, with transparency and in absolute good faith." With news of Pirelli's private test with Mercedes breaking in Monaco, both parties are in hot water with the FIA and also with rival teams. Not only did Mercedes use a 2013 W04 for the three-day test at the Circuit de Catalunya but also rivals also claim that it was kept a secret from the. According to the FIA's contract with Pirelli, while they may run tests of 1000km during the season with any team, they have to inform the others.
