Van der Garde thrilled to progress to Q2

May 25th, 2013 (F1Plus / Chris Cameron-Dow) - The Caterham team was in jubilant mood after Giedo van der Garde qualified 15th for tomorrow's Monaco Grand Prix. Van der Garde took part in Q2 for the first time this season after finishing 16th in Q1. In Q2, the Dutch driver ran as high as 6th at one point before ending up 15th fastest, comfortably ahead of the Williams of Pastor Maldonado Caterham have still not managed to score a point, despite being in their fourth season of Formula One. Part of the challenge has been qualifying, where the car has not been quick enough to put the drivers high enough on the grid to make a realistic challenge for points.
